Pro Cathedral singing workshop: The Pro Cathedral singing workshop for children (aged 8-15) takes place from Monday 15th August to Friday 19th August from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. The course is run by Blanaid Murphy, director of the Palestrina Choir and St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral Choir with Darren Magee course assistant and organ scholar at the pro cathedral. On Saturday 20th August workshop participants will sing in the 6pm mass in the Pro Cathedral. The fee for the workshop is €100. For further details contact 8745441. Limited places available.

Qualification in Pastoral Work/Chaplaincy: Applications are being considered now for the MA in Chaplaincy Studies and Pastoral work at Mater Dei Institute. This is a one year full time course. Retreats in Orlagh with Fr Korko Moses SJ:
A weekend retreat on awareness takes place from Friday 5th to Sunday the 7th of August. The cost is €160.
A four day retreat in the Jesus Prayer takes place from Monday 8th August to Friday 12th of August. The cost is €320.
A one day retreat on contemplation in action takes place on Sunday 14th August. The cost is €60.
A five day retreat on yoga meditation takes place from Sunday 14th August to Friday 19th August. The cost is €60.

Upcoming conference ‘Parish Prevention of Substance Misuse’. This conference is a joint initiative by Crosscare Drug & Alcohol Programme and the Irish Bishops Drugs Initiative. Conference aim: To show positive and simple ways in which a parish can play a part in prevention and awareness of drug and alcohol misuse To highlight supports available to parishes within the Dublin Diocese in relation to education and training. Venue: Clonliffe College. Date: Saturday 8th October 2011. Time: 10am - 3.30pm. It is essential to book a place to attend as places are limited. Dublin Simon Community is a charity working in the homeless sector, providing food, shelter and rehabilitative services to people experiencing homelessness. An important part of our work is our Service User Participation programme, which aims to help our clients become more involved in the day-to-day running of our organisation. Clients involved in this programme are now organising a Sale of Work to raise money for Dublin Simon. They are holding it on Saturday 23rd July in the Macro Community Centre on North King St (corner of Green St). It will run from 10am to 4 pm.
