Pastor's Desk: 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Posted 16th July 2011 in Pastor's Desk

As committed members of the Church, all of us have been appalled by the revelations of the Cloyne Report on Child Sexual Abuse by priests. Again we need to ensure that victims/survivors receive the care that is required and that they also receive justice for what they have been subjected to. We also need to prevent these despicable acts occurring again. In Dublin diocese we have a very professional, lay led, Child Protection Office, who ensure that all allegations are dealt with quickly and properly.

In this parish, our Child Protection Representatives can be contacted at 087 318 3066 and they will support anyone in bringing their complaint forward to the relevant authorities in the State and the Diocese.

The Gospel speaks about the darnel growing beside the wheat and when is the right time to weed the darnel out. If it has not been done to date, then today is the answer. Please see the numbers for the various support agencies below.
