Day for Life 2011: Day for Life 2011 will be celebrated this Sunday 2nd October on the theme ‘A call to solidarity and hope in difficult times’. www.catholicbishops.ie

Short Course on St Mark’s Gospel: Fr Gerard Deighan, LSS, will offer a basic course on St Mark’s Gospel on Monday evenings at 8.15 p.m., beginning October 3rd, in the parish hall, St Kevin’s Church, Harrington St., Dublin 8. In this series of reflections, Fr. Dermot Mansfield, S.J., (author of ‘Heart Speaks to Heart: The Story of Blessed John Henry Newman’), will outline aspects of Newman’s life and thought, showing his relevance for own living of faith today.
