Pastor's Desk: 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Posted 3rd September 2011 in Pastor's Desk

Welcome back to everyone after the summer holidays!! I hope that even despite the weather, you have had a restful time over the summer months. Now that the children have gone back to school it is time to begin the pastoral year in the parish as well. This is also the beginning of our new Trinity Weekly newsletter, which as the name suggests, will be available each week after Mass. Being such a large and busy parish we were aware that some items of news were occurring after our monthly Trinity News had gone to print and so in response to that, we have decided to run our very own Trinity Weekly. Please feel free to submit any information on local events which may be occurring within the coming week. All articles should be brief and to the point and can be left into the Parish Office before 12.30pm each Thursday or sent via email or phone.

The New Missal

The introduction of the New Missal translation begins next Sunday, the 11th September. Initially, the congregation responses (e.g. “And with your Spirit”) and the common prayers of the Mass, “I Confess”, Gloria and the Creed will be introduced but don’t worry, the new wording will be in the Missalettes we use at Mass for us all to follow. The changes also affect the weekday Mass from the 12th but we will have a leaflet available for Mass goers ‘til we get used to the new wording. The Prayers said by the Celebrant will change from the First Sunday of Advent, 27th November 2011.

Have a great week,
Fr. Eoin
