Taizé Prayer around the Cross for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will take place at 8pm on Friday, 20 January 2012 in St Paul’s Church, Smithfield, Arran Quay, Dublin 7. All welcome.

Workshops on Eucharistic Adoration with Lectio Divina and Catechesis: In preparation for the 50th International Eucharistic Congress 2012, two workshops will be offered for the Dublin Diocese. The Workshop for Eucharistic Adoration with Lectio Divina and Catechesis will present the Leader’s Guide for Eucharistic Adoration with Lectio Divina and Catechesis and will include booklets and guides for Parishes and schools to assist adult and children’s Eucharistic Adoration. The first workshop will be held on Saturday 28 January 2012, at St. Mary’s Priory, Tallaght Village, in St. Joseph’s Room of the Retreat House from 11am to 2pm. The second workshop will be on Saturday 25 February 2012 at St. Mary & St. Peter’s Parish, Arus Lorcain, Castle Park, Arklow, Co. Wicklow, in the Parish Pastoral Centre from 11am to 2pm. Anyone who is interested in Eucharistic Adoration is welcome. Coffee/tea will be available at both locations. Please bring a packed lunch. Catholic Schools Week begins on January 29th. This year’s Theme is “Catholic Schools: Christ’s Living Body active in our world.” Resources are available on the Catholic Bishops Website, www.catholicbishops.ie

The Day for Consecrated Life will be held on February 2nd. Mass will be celebrated at 7.45pm at the Oblate Parish of Our Lady of the Wayside, Bluebell.

World Day of the Sick: The Diocesan celebration of the 20th World Day of the Sick will be held in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Mourne Road, Drimnagh on Sunday 5th Feb at 3pm. Archbishop Martin will be the main celebrant at Mass which will include a celebration of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. All are welcome to attend especially those who are sick or housebound and their families and carers. Extensive parking will be available in the school grounds on Sperrin Road, beside the church. There is easy access to Mourne Road on buses 121, 122, 123. The Luas Red line stop ‘Drimnagh’ is a 5 minutes walk from the church. Anyone who needs assistance to attend is invited to contact our Parish Office 4556105 during office hours Mon - Fri. Transport will be arranged through the local Order of Malta, Red Cross and Civil Defence. Refreshments will be served after Mass. About 20 Priests will be needed to assist with the Anointing of the sick.
