21st Divine Mercy Conference: The 21st Divine Mercy Conference will be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February in the RDS (main hall) Ballsbridge. Tickets for Saturday €25, Sunday €20 and weekend tickets are €30 and are available from the Divine Mercy Committee, c/o 90 Foxfield Road, Raheny, Dublin 5. Contact 01 8313119/839 3691/ 8315647. Talks at Orlagh Retreat: Tuesday Evenings, Feb 21, 28 and Mar 6 (7.30-9.30pm) “Lord, teach us to pray”. This question of the apostles to Jesus is frequently echoed by people today and in Orlagh we are responding to this hunger by offering a series of three evenings on meditation, mindfulness and prayer, under the title Prayer Guides. Each evening there will be talk outlining the approach to prayer of a recognized spiritual authority. This will be followed by a guided experience of prayer using the method of that particular author. The charge for each session is €10. The dates, speakers and the subject of the sessions are:
February 21st: Sr. Fionnuala Quinn OP will speak about Thomas Keating;
February 28th: Fr. John Callanan SJ will speak about Anthony de Mello;
March 6th: Fr. Pádraig Daly OSA will speak about Thomas Merton.

“Plum Blossom” Tsunami Anniversary Concert: A concert to raise funds for the children affected by the Japanese Tsunami will be held in St Stephen’s Church (Pepper Canister) Upper Mount Street on Sunday 11th March at 3.30pm. Performances on the night will include Mari Moriya winner of the 2007 Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition, Takeshi Moriuchi, conductor of the Bruckner Orchestra, Austria and Daichi Fujiki, finalist of the 2011 Rome International Sacred Music Competition. All proceeds raised will go to Aid Japan for Children. Tickets for this event are €25 however tickets for groups of 20 or more are €20. Emmanuel Concert 2012: Please support Emmanuel 2012 by coming to one of the performances in The Helix Glasnevin on 13th, 14th or 15th of March at 8.00 pm. Interest is so great for second level schools in this Diocese that a third day has been organised to facilitate the full complement of 2,200 students (over 700 a day) enrolled from 60 schools. Course for Cantors: Patrice O’Connor will present a course for cantors in 3 sessions on Wednesday evenings 22nd/29th February and 7th March at Clonliffe College (8.00 - 9.30 pm.). Total cost is €15 per person payable when booking. Please contact the Liturgy Resource Centre 01 8087554.

Events at Avila: Avila, Carmelite Retreat Centre cordially invites you to celebrate a retreat day on the spirituality of HILDEGARD OF BINGEN on Saturday the 25th February. The retreat day, entitled “Hildegard of Bingen, Sybil of the Rhine”, will be given by Fr. Michael Miners OCDS. Fr. Michael has had an interest in Hildegard of Bingen for over 20 years. The day will begin with registration at 10.00 a.m. followed by the first of two talks. At 12.00 noon, Mass will be celebrated. The day will finish at 4.00 p.m. A suggested offering of €15.00 will include refreshments; you may bring your own lunch and avail of dining room facilities.

Events at Manresa: The following events will be taking place over the coming months.
Lenten Prayer Evenings - led by Fr. Ciary Quirke, SJ. These evenings provide a ‘sacred space’ to open your heart to the Word of God and help you prepare to celebrate the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord in Holy Week. Come for some of these evenings or for all of them. Know that you will be most welcome. Starting Tuesday 21st February, from 7.30pm to 9pm & continuing until April 3rd.
Words of Fire - Understanding the Prophets. This series of talks will take place over five weeks, beginning on the 26th of April. It will be given this year by Fr. Dermot Mansfield SJ and not by Fr. Brendan Comerford SJ as previously advertised.
