An Evening of Reflection: Listen & Enjoy, why not join us for an evening of reflection and music on the season of Lent at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Ballyfermot on Sunday 25th March 2012 @ 7.30pm. Peter’s Passion at St Patrick’s Church, Skerries: Peter’s Passion is a musical mediation on the Stations of the Cross lasting approximately one hour. It tells the story of the last hours of Jesus’ life, seen through the eyes of St Peter and those who witnessed the Passion of Christ. The story was written by Bernadette Egan and is told through 18 original songs with narration, mime and movement/dance. Peter’s Passion will be presented by students, staff and friends of Skerries Community College in St Patricks Church, Skerries on Sunday, 25th March at 7.00pm. This year, as the mediation has reached its 25th anniversary, we are honoured to announce that Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will be attending this special event in our Parish. Special Vine Mass: A Special Vine Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Eamonn Walsh at the Church of the Incarnation, Fettercairn (Springfield) on Saturday the 31st of March 2012. Taize Style Mass with Music and Reflections. The Mass will be followed by light refreshments.

Tickets for the Statio Orbis in Croke Park: All parishes should already have received details of how to apply for their quota of tickets for the Satio Orbis, Mass at Croke Park for the IEC 2012 on June 17th. These will be distributed by IEC 2012 once parish registration forms have been completed and returned to Bishop Field with one cheque made payable to the 50th International Eucharistic Congress. The closing date is Tuesday 20th March. Please remember that parish allocations are based on a ratio of 6 tickets per 1,000 Catholics. Single day tickets to Croke Park are only available through this parish allocation. Parishioners who do not receive a ticket through their parish can still attend, apply by booking themselves directly with IEC2012. However, this will require registering for a minimum three day ticket. There are three ways to book:
1) Book Online on the Congress website www.iec2012.ie/registration
2) Telephone the IEC2012 Booking offices on 01 2981122.
3) Download a paper booking form from the Congress website www.iec2012.ie/registration and send the completed form to CSSL, 3rd Floor, Paradigm House, Dundrum Office Park, Dundrum, Dublin 14. Advance bookings are open until the 9th of May 2012. After that date all bookings are onsite the RDS during the Congress week. You can register as an individual or as a group, you can book for 7 days, 3 days or 1 day. BOOK NOW!

Talks in Preparation for Easter with St. Fintan’s Parish Sutton: The final in a series of three talks, in preparation for Easter, will take place next Monday the 19th, at 7.30pm in the Marine Hotel, Sutton. Entitled: ‘Where was God on Good Friday?’ The talk will be given by Dr. Kieran J. O’Mahony, OSA. All are welcome.

Gardiner Street Church - Dr. Dermot Lane, President of Mater Dei Institute, will speak on his new book: Stepping Stones to other Religions A Christian Theology of Inter-Religious Dialogue on Tuesday March 20th at 7.30 p.m. Admission is free, donation welcome.

Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir: The Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir will perform in the Church of the Ascension of the Lord, Balally Parish, Dublin 16, in a fundraising Concert for the New Pastoral Centre. Interested in developing your faith? BA Theology and Lifelong Education (NFQ Level 8) at Mater Dei Institute, Clonliffe Road, Dublin 3. Applications are invited for this Programme which is designed for those interested in exploring the Christian faith and/or who wish to further their involvement in parish life and ministry. It is a part-time course, offered at Certificate, Diploma and Degree level, on 1 evening per week over 24 weeks and 6 Saturdays. During the coming year the topics will include The Bible, Prayer and Spirituality, Liturgy, Social Teaching of the Church, Art Music and Worship, and Faith in a Digital Age.
