Young Christian Workers (YCW) is looking for young people between the ages of 18 to 25 years of age to participate in a piece of qualitative research into the reality of young adults in that age bracket living in Ireland today. The research is intended to provide a greater insight into the lived experiences of young adults living in Ireland today and their hopes and expectations for the future. Public Lecture: - “Christianity at its best”. Donal Harrington will speak on his new book, Christianity at its best, published and available from Columba Press. Tuesday May 8th at 7.30pm at Gardiner St church. All are Welcome. www.gardinerstparish.ie

Public Talk: The Blessed John Paul II Theological Society, St Patrick’s College, Maynooth presents a talk titled; “Offertory and Consecration: Our gift to God. The Eucharist: God’s gift to us”. The event takes place on Monday 23rd April, 8pm, Renehan Hall, St Patrick’s College Maynooth. The speaker is Frances Hogan. Frances Hogan is a lay missionary and educator working in the Catholic Church since the late 60’s. From the mid-80’s she lectured in the Milltown Institute of Philosophy and Theology in Dublin, and served four years on the Theological Commission of the Bishops. She is also trained as a Spiritual Director and Retreat giver. Since the ’80s Frances has written many books and has produced many audio recordings. All are welcome.

Irish Church Music Association: This year the 43rd Annual Summer School will take place in St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, from Monday July 2nd to Friday July 6th. The week is residential and provides for full meals, accommodation and all music, and costs €430 for members and €480 for non-members; students €330, and day visitors €100 for the fist and €75 for each subsequent day. Intercultural Mass: On Sunday 29th April a cultural celebration will take place during the 12 o’clock Mass in Donnycarney Church. This is an opportunity to celebrate the many different cultures among us. All are welcome to attend and you are also encouraged to wear your national costume. Please bring some snack food from your country to share after Mass. Console: Console presents a training event on Tuesday 24th April in UCD that may be of interest. The Console Suicide Bereavement Support Training is a full-day intensive training course and has been designed to increase participant’s awareness of the unique aspects associated with Suicide Bereavement and to ultimately improve the respect, understanding and support for people who have lost a loved one to suicide.
