Holy Trinity Connections: Befriending Service

Posted 15th October 2013 in Announcements

Crosscare is the social care agency of the Dublin Archdiocese and offers a range of programmes aimed at combating social isolation, loneliness and other issues regarding the elderly. We are currently looking to expand our Befriending Service into Holy Trinity parish. This service pairs one of our trained, Garda vetted, volunteers with an elderly person (both local people) in the community, with visits starting at one hour a week. This simple gift of time and company makes a huge difference to an older person experiencing loneliness and isolation. To expand our Befriending Service successfully we need to recruit volunteers for training and get referrals for those people who may be in need of our services. If you know anyone who is in need of our service or if you would like to volunteer to be part of this work, please watch out for our Holy Trinity Connections Volunteering Weekend on the 2nd and 3rd of November.
