ascensionWelcome everyone, as we celebrate the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord and also World Communications Day. The Ascension of Jesus to His Heavenly Father was a necessary sadness the early disciples had to go through so that the Holy Spirit could come into their hearts & minds. The physical separation from Jesus did not have the desolation of His death on the cross but it was difficult for them to let go.

World Communications Day 2014

World Communications Day is celebrated today, Sunday 1 June 2014, on the theme “Communication at the Service of an Authentic Culture of Encounter“. In the June issue of Intercom Magazine Archbishop Eamon Martin reflects on this year’s papal message and the challenges of communicating the gospel in 2014. He says: “People are still hungry for good news; they want hope and the hope that the gospel provides can still feed people who hunger for purpose and fulfilment in life”. Helping Hand Lourdes Pilgrimage

The parish pilgrimage group heads off today to Lourdes. Please keep them in your prayers and be assured that your intentions will be remembered at the Grotto.
