csw2015Catholic Schools Week 2015

This week the Church in Ireland is celebrating CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK, until next Sunday 1st February. The theme this year is “Catholic Schools: A Call to Serve”. We here in Holy Trinity Parish are blessed with the quality of teaching and formation our Catholic Schools provide for the children of our parish. As you are aware, the very existence of Catholic schools in our society is continually being debated and their right to have an ethos that reflects our faith. The bias of our mainstream media is very evident yet the numbers enrolling in the Catholic schools of this parish tell a different story. This debate involves all of us because as tax payers we have a right to express our desire that our money would go towards educating our children in the Faith.

This week we celebrate our five Catholic Schools in the parish: Holy Trinity SNS; Naomh Cholmcille SNS; Scoil Bhríde JNS; St. Kevin’s JNS and St. Francis of Assisi NS Belmayne. We express our thanks to the teachers, staff, Boards of Management, Parents’ Associations and in particular to the Principals of each school for their dedication and commitment. Next Sunday, 1st February, each school will be represented by a class at the 12.30pm Family Mass when we will give thanks to God for the work of the schools and ask His continued blessing upon them.

Registering for the Week of Guided Prayer

speakLast weekend we had speakers at each of our Sunday Masses inviting parishioners to take part in the Week of Guided Prayer from February 8-14. The closing date for registering is this coming Tuesday, 27th January. Please complete the registration form available at the doors of the church or from the Sacristy by Tuesday and return it to the Parish Office or the Sacristy. We will be in touch with you about the next stage in due course.
