Confirmation Programme

In our multicultural school environment, it cannot be taken for granted that every child is eligible (was Baptised into the Roman Catholic tradition) or wishes to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

If you wish your child to participate and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation please complete the Registration Form at the link below.  We have enhanced our systems to support the delivery of the registration form, baptism certificate and registration fee to be 100% online, eliminating any risk for those involved in face-to-face contact and handling paper.  However, as always we are here to support any parents who do not have access to the internet, an electronic device or printer and you can call in to the Parish Office where Noreen or Tamine will be happy to assist you in this regard.

As you are very aware the Covid-19 pandemic has created a new set of restrictions to all our plans, both immediate and in the future. These day-to-day challenges have also impacted on our ability to plan our sacramental programmes, including the actual dates for our Confirmation ceremonies in 2021.

We are currently in Level 3, the church is closed, and daily Mass is restricted to live stream only.  Level 2 permits a maximum of 50 people in the church. As a result of these limits it is not possible to proceed with the usual “You shall be my Witness” Masses for now.  However, we have organised a schedule of Family Masses at 11:30am tailored to families with children due to receive the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation which will be live streamed on holytrinityparish.ie/live as follows:

1) Sunday 18th October

2) Sunday 8th November

3) Sunday 22nd November

4) Sunday 20th December

Even with all this uncertainty it is especially important that you register with us immediately so we can keep you updated with any changes which will allow us to proceed in a limited way.

Confirmation Registration Form

I look forward to receiving your completed registration form and wish you and your family every blessing as you journey together towards this special day for you all.

Fr. Gerry Corcoran Co-PP, Moderator

Update, June 2021

In recent days there is a lot of media speculation regarding the lifting of restrictions after 5th July due to the increase of the COVID-19 Delta variant. To avoid any confusion and further disappointment we are awaiting advice from the HSE and the Archbishop before we proceed with announcing dates for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion. Please ensure that your contact details are up to date so we can keep you informed of developments.

Update, 9th August 2021

The Parish is proposing to celebrate the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion during September per the details below, which are subject to public health guidelines in place at the time:

Confirmation: Thursday 16th September – Sunday 19th September

First Communion: Friday 24th September – Sunday 26th September

Dates & times will be confirmed in the week beginning 23rd August 2021.

Note that the services on Thursdays & Fridays will take place at approximately 6pm.

Update, 25th August 2021

Outlined below are the specific dates & times per the school, class & teacher as recorded at the time of registration.

In the event that you are unable to attend the date/time allocated to your child, please contact us by email info@holytrinityparish.ie and we will re-schedule you to another date/time.

Similar to last year’s Sacraments we will be issuing invitations for each candidate which will admit 4 people in total, i.e. the candidate & 3 other family members, this is what we must do to ensure the Sacraments can go ahead & we are trusting that everyone will respect & adhere to the restrictions.

Each candidate will be assigned a specific seat number & this will be specified on the invitation and we will contact you closer to the time with details of the how/when/where in relation to the invitations which MUST be brought with you to the Church on the day.
